That's keeper Joe Cannon, who had an awesome season and was up for Goalkeeper of the Year (and probably should have gotten it, considering he only gave up a mere three goals during the entire playoffs and Championship game). He was given a Club Quake award and told a moving story about how depressed he was several years ago when he saw he hadn't been picked in the MLS Draft. He said he'd mailed highlight tapes to every coach in the league, and the best response he'd gotten was from Dave Dir, who commented that he liked the music Joe had picked! Joe said he really wanted to come to San Jose (after all it means "Saint Joe"!) and though the past few years have been difficult, winning the championship is the highlight of his life.
